الرَّحْمَانAR-RAḤMĀNThe Compassionate

بِسْمِbismiٱللَّهِllāhiٱلرَّحْمَٰنِr-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِr-raḥīmIn the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُar-raḥmān۝١(1)The Compassionate.عَلَّمَʕallamaٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'ān۝٢(2)Has taught the Quran.خَلَقَḵalaqaٱلْإِنسَٰنَl-'insān۝٣(3)He created man.عَلَّمَهُʕallamahuٱلْبَيَانَl-bayān۝٤(4)And taught him clear expression.ٱلشَّمْسُaš-šamsuوَٱلْقَمَرُwal-qamaruبِحُسْبَانٖbi-ḥusbān۝٥(5)The sun and the moon move according to plan.وَٱلنَّجْمُwan-najmuوَٱلشَّجَرُwaš-šajaruيَسْجُدَانِyasjudān۝٦(6)And the stars and the trees prostrate themselves.وَٱلسَّمَآءَwas-samā~'aرَفَعَهَاrafaʕahāوَوَضَعَwa-waḍaʕaٱلْمِيزَانَl-mīzān۝٧(7)And the sky, He raised; and He set up the balance.أَلَّا'allāتَطْغَوْا۟taṭḡawفِىٱلْمِيزَانِl-mīzān۝٨(8)So do not transgress in the balance.وَأَقِيمُوا۟wa-'aqīmuٱلْوَزْنَl-waznaبِٱلْقِسْطِbil-qisṭiوَلَاwa-lāتُخْسِرُوا۟tuḵsirūٱلْمِيزَانَl-mīzān۝٩(9)But maintain the weights with justice, and do not violate the balance.وَٱلْأَرْضَwal-'arḍaوَضَعَهَاwaḍaʕahāلِلْأَنَامِlil-'anām۝١٠(10)And the earth; He set up for the creatures.فِيهَاfīhāفَٰكِهَةٞfākihatunوَٱلنَّخْلُwan-naḵluذَاتُḏātuٱلْأَكْمَامِl-'akmām۝١١(11)In it are fruits, and palms in clusters.وَٱلْحَبُّwal-ḥabbuذُوḏuٱلْعَصْفِl-ʕaṣfiوَٱلرَّيْحَانُwar-rayḥān۝١٢(12)And grains in the blades, and fragrant plants.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝١٣(13)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?خَلَقَḵalaqaٱلْإِنسَٰنَl-'insānaمِنminصَلْصَٰلٖṣalṣālinكَٱلْفَخَّارِkal-faḵḵār۝١٤(14)He created man from hard clay, like bricks.وَخَلَقَwa-ḵalaqaٱلْجَآنَّl-jā~nnaمِنminمَّارِجٖmārijinمِّنminنَّارٖnār۝١٥(15)And created the jinn from a fusion of fire.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝١٦(16)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?رَبُّrabbuٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِl-mašriqayniوَرَبُّwa-rabbuٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِl-maḡribayn۝١٧(17)Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝١٨(18)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?مَرَجَmarajaٱلْبَحْرَيْنِl-baḥrayniيَلْتَقِيَانِyaltaqīyān۝١٩(19)He merged the two seas, converging together.بَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumāبَرْزَخٞbarzaḵunلَّايَبْغِيَانِyabḡīyān۝٢٠(20)Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٢١(21)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?يَخْرُجُyaḵrujuمِنْهُمَاminhumaٱللُّؤْلُؤُl-lu'lu'uوَٱلْمَرْجَانُwal-marjān۝٢٢(22)From them emerge pearls and coral.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٢٣(23)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?وَلَهُwa-lahuٱلْجَوَارِl-jawāriٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُl-munša'ātuفِىfiٱلْبَحْرِl-baḥriكَٱلْأَعْلَٰمِkal-'aʕlām۝٢٤(24)His are the ships, raised above the sea like landmarks.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٢٥(25)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?كُلُّkulluمَنْmanعَلَيْهَاʕalayhāفَانٖfān۝٢٦(26)Everyone upon it is perishing.وَيَبْقَىٰwayabqāوَجْهُwajhuرَبِّكَrabbikaذُوḏuٱلْجَلَٰلِl-jalāliوَٱلْإِكْرَامِwal-'ikrām۝٢٧(27)But will remain the Presence of your Lord, Full of Majesty and Splendor.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٢٨(28)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?يَسْـَٔلُهُۥyas'aluhūمَنmanفِىٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِs-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِۚwal-'arḍi ,كُلَّkullaيَوْمٍyawminهُوَhuwaفِىشَأْنٖša'n۝٢٩(29)Everyone in the heavens and the earth asks Him. Every day He is managing.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٣٠(30)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?سَنَفْرُغُsanafruḡuلَكُمْlakumأَيُّهَ'ayyuhaٱلثَّقَلَانِṯ-ṯaqalān۝٣١(31)We will attend to you, O prominent two.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٣٢(32)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?يَٰمَعْشَرَyāmaʕšaraٱلْجِنِّl-jinniوَٱلْإِنسِwal-'insiإِنِ'iniٱسْتَطَعْتُمْstaṭaʕtumأَن'anتَنفُذُوا۟tanfuḏūمِنْminأَقْطَارِ'aqṭāriٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِs-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-'arḍiفَٱنفُذُوا۟ۚfanfuḏū ,لَاتَنفُذُونَtanfuḏūnaإِلَّا'illāبِسُلْطَٰنٖbisulṭān۝٣٣(33)O society of jinn and humans! If you can pass through the bounds of the heavens and the earth, go ahead and pass. But you will not pass except with authorization.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٣٤(34)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?يُرْسَلُyursaluعَلَيْكُمَاʕalaykumāشُوَاظٞšūwāẓunمِّنminنَّارٖnārinوَنُحَاسٞwa-nuḥāsunفَلَاfa-lāتَنتَصِرَانِtantaṣirān۝٣٥(35)You will be bombarded with flares of fire and brass, and you will not succeed.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٣٦(36)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?فَإِذَاfa'iḏaٱنشَقَّتِnšaqqatiٱلسَّمَآءُs-samā~'uفَكَانَتْfakānatوَرْدَةٗwardatanكَٱلدِّهَانِkad-dihān۝٣٧(37)When the sky splits apart, and becomes rose, like paint.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٣٨(38)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?فَيَوْمَئِذٖfayawma'iḏinلَّايُسْـَٔلُyus'aluعَنʕanذَنۢبِهِۦٓḏanbihī~إِنسٞ'insunوَلَاwal-āجَآنّٞjā~nn۝٣٩(39)On that Day, no human and no jinn will be asked about his sins.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٤٠(40)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?يُعْرَفُyuʕrafuٱلْمُجْرِمُونَl-mujrimūnaبِسِيمَٰهُمْbi-sīmāhumفَيُؤْخَذُfayu'ḵaḏuبِٱلنَّوَٰصِىbin-nawāṣīوَٱلْأَقْدَامِwal-'aqdām۝٤١(41)The guilty will be recognized by their marks; they will be taken by the forelocks and the feet.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٤٢(42)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?هَٰذِهِۦhāḏihīجَهَنَّمُjahannamuٱلَّتِىllatīيُكَذِّبُyukaḏḏibuبِهَاbihāٱلْمُجْرِمُونَl-mujrimūn۝٤٣(43)This is Hell that the guilty denied.يَطُوفُونَyaṭūfūnaبَيْنَهَاbaynahāوَبَيْنَwa-baynaحَمِيمٍḥamīminءَانٖ'ān۝٤٤(44)They circulate between it and between a seething bath.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٤٥(45)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?وَلِمَنْwa-limanخَافَḵāfaمَقَامَmaqāmaرَبِّهِۦrabbihīجَنَّتَانِjannatān۝٤٦(46)But for him who feared the standing of his Lord are two gardens.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٤٧(47)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?ذَوَاتَآḏawātā~أَفْنَانٖ'afnān۝٤٨(48)Full of varieties.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٤٩(49)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?فِيهِمَاfīhimāعَيْنَانِʕaynāniتَجْرِيَانِtajrīyān۝٥٠(50)In them are two flowing springs.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٥١(51)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?فِيهِمَاfīhimāمِنminكُلِّkulliفَٰكِهَةٖfākihatinزَوْجَانِzawjān۝٥٢(52)In them are fruits of every kind, in pairs.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٥٣(53)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?مُتَّكِـِٔينَmuttaki'īnaعَلَىٰʕalāفُرُشِۭfurušinبَطَآئِنُهَاbaṭā~'inuhāمِنْminإِسْتَبْرَقٖۚ'istabraqin ,وَجَنَىwajanaٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِl-jannatayniدَانٖdān۝٥٤(54)Reclining on furnishings lined with brocade, and the fruits of the two gardens are near at hand.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٥٥(55)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?فِيهِنَّfīhinnaقَٰصِرَٰتُqāṣirātuٱلطَّرْفِṭ-ṭarfiلَمْlamيَطْمِثْهُنَّyaṭmiṯhunnaإِنسٞ'insunقَبْلَهُمْqablahumوَلَاwa-lāجَآنّٞjā~nn۝٥٦(56)In them are maidens restraining their glances, untouched before by any man or jinn.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٥٧(57)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?كَأَنَّهُنَّka-'annahunnaٱلْيَاقُوتُl-yāqūtuوَٱلْمَرْجَانُwal-marjān۝٥٨(58)As though they were rubies and corals.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٥٩(59)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?هَلْhalجَزَآءُjazā~'uٱلْإِحْسَٰنِl-'iḥsāniإِلَّا'illaٱلْإِحْسَٰنُl-'iḥsān۝٦٠(60)Is the reward of goodness anything but goodness?فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٦١(61)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?وَمِنwa-minدُونِهِمَاdūnihimāجَنَّتَانِjannatān۝٦٢(62)And beneath them are two gardens.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٦٣(63)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?مُدْهَآمَّتَانِmudhā~mmatān۝٦٤(64)Deep green.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٦٥(65)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?فِيهِمَاfīhimāعَيْنَانِʕaynāniنَضَّاخَتَانِnaḍḍāḵatān۝٦٦(66)In them are two gushing springs.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٦٧(67)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?فِيهِمَاfīhimāفَٰكِهَةٞfākihatunوَنَخْلٞwanaḵlunوَرُمَّانٞwa-rummān۝٦٨(68)In them are fruits, and date-palms, and pomegranates.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٦٩(69)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?فِيهِنَّfīhinnaخَيْرَٰتٌḵayrātunحِسَانٞḥisān۝٧٠(70)In them are good and beautiful ones.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٧١(71)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?حُورٞḥūrunمَّقْصُورَٰتٞmaqṣūrātunفِىٱلْخِيَامِl-ḵīyām۝٧٢(72)Companions, secluded in the tents.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٧٣(73)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?لَمْlamيَطْمِثْهُنَّyaṭmiṯhunnaإِنسٞ'insunقَبْلَهُمْqablahumوَلَاwa-lāجَآنّٞjā~nn۝٧٤(74)Whom no human has touched before, nor jinn.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٧٥(75)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?مُتَّكِـِٔينَmuttaki'īnaعَلَىٰʕalāرَفْرَفٍrafrafinخُضْرٖḵuḍrinوَعَبْقَرِىٍّwa-ʕabqariyyinحِسَانٖḥisān۝٧٦(76)Reclining on green cushions, and exquisite carpets.فَبِأَىِّfabi-'ayyiءَالَآءِ'ālā~'iرَبِّكُمَاrabbikumāتُكَذِّبَانِtukaḏḏibān۝٧٧(77)So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny?تَبَٰرَكَtabārakaٱسْمُsmuرَبِّكَrabbikaذِىḏīٱلْجَلَٰلِl-jalāliوَٱلْإِكْرَامِwal-'ikrām۝٧٨(78)Blessed be the name of your Lord, Full of Majesty and Splendor.
